rui: funny moment 2
[allaboutrui] last September 4 bert, rui and I went to sm fairview to pay for tita vicky’s credit card bill. After paying, we bought burgers and fries at mc donald’s for me and Jollibee for rui. The free toy for the kiddie meal at Jollibee are bleach characters toy figures of ichigo, toshirou and renji. Of course, rui chose ichigo. While eating, I told him, “rui, mommy would also buy another ichigo ok? but it’s for mommy.” He said, “why mommy? Just borrow mine na lang.” I told him, “ay, I don’t that kasi you’ll play with it, I want mine for display only.” He answered, “no mommy, borrow mo na lang ito, then ako na lang i-display mo.” Then posed liked the ichigo toy figure…hehehe…hay, another funny moment with rui…^.^
rui: funny moment 1
[allaboutrui] while rui was answering the test questions I prepared for him for one of his subjects tomorrow, Filipino, there was one question in which he has to encircle the picture which name starts with the letter on the left. The picture I have drawn was a cloud with raindrops [with an arrow on the raindrops] and then three letters to choose from were u,a,e. when I asked him what is his answer, he said a. I said, why a? a for ambon [drizzle], mommy. Then me and bert laughed heartily because we never thought he even knows the word ‘ambon’ and yet he used it as an answer. Bert said, that’s also right, hehe. Yeah, I said. Then we told rui that it is ‘ulan’ [rain] not ‘ambon’ [drizzle], so he encircled u. hehehe, bert and I both agreed that rui is a born comedian ^.^…
rui: first honor in first grading
[allaboutrui] yesterday, august 21, we dressed up rui in a filipino get-up of white kamisa de chino, red silk pants and scarf and all [me, lolo toy and lola chi] accompanied him to his school around 9am to celebrate linggo ng wika and pinning of ribbons to honor students…good thing it’s a holiday to commemorate ninoy aquino’s death anniversary…anyway, we were late for about 10 minutes and since the place is a little bit small, it was already jam-packed with students and their families so we had to slowly push our way in. I let rui sit down on a chair allotted for students and in a while, they were called on the mini-stage to sing ‘ako’y isang pinoy’… as expected, he refused to go and participate despite his continuous singing of that song at home and participating in their 2-day practice…good thing his teacher, ms daisy, was there to support him and was able to get him on stage but did not participate in the singing portion…after a while, bert arrived with the ‘bilao’ of pancit palabok as our share in the potluck…he was just in time for the pinning of ribbons for the honor students and I asked him to be the one to pin the 1st honor ribbon to rui and I’ll be the photographer [sister letty took over the hosting during the honor students in rui’s class and she was telling the audience ‘ah eto magaling talaga ito kaso tamad magsulat eh ano rui so practice ha’] hehe..after the awarding ceremony, it was ‘eating time’ but I wasn’t able to eat my share, I was already feeling sick by this time because of the heat and the crowd so we went home right after they have eaten…congrats rui for a job well done! So proud of you son… “,)
vampire knight
[animewatch] Gosh! I have watched so many animes already but as always, I haven’t find the time to write about those which I really find a good watch…since I’m now in front of the monitor, I decided to write the anime I’m currently addicted to…but I found out that the dvd copy I bought wasn’t complete, it was seven (7) episodes short T.T…of course I can’t stay still so I downloaded those which were not included in my copy…
…only a few I could say that I want to watch over and over again, and this one makes it to that criteria…it’s called Vampire Knight.
Let me tell you about the main characters…
First, there is Kuran Kaname. At the start of the story, he is a savior at the eyes of a young girl he saved from a bad vampire who was about to kill her. After that, he sent her to the protection of Cross Kaien, the Chairman of Cross Academy and former legendary hunter of vampires. From then on, Kaname visits her regularly. The next one would be Cross Yuuki/Kurosi Yuuki, the child whom Kuran Kaname saved from a vampire years ago. She became the adoptive daughter of Cross Kaien and became one of the prefects of the ‘day class’ and one of the guardians of the ‘night class’. The third main character is Kiryuu Zero, one of the twin sons of a hunter of vampires which were killed by pureblood vampire Hiou Shizuka. After that incident, he too was entrusted to the care of Cross Kaien together with Yuuki. It was then that Yuuki promised herself to take care of Zero and became protective of him.
And the story…
At Cross Academy, the student body is divided into two groups: the day class and the night class. Before the sun sets, the two prefects of the day class [also the guardians of the night class] Yuuki and Zero will pacify the day class in front of the Moon Dormitory gate where the night class is staying. And why the ruckus you may ask? Well, the night class, headed by Dorm head Kuran Kaname, is an elite group composed of beautiful and gorgeous men and women…vampires. Yup, vampires. That is the main reason why yuuki and zero are assigned as guardians to make sure that no day class students wander out into the night or within the premises of the moon dormitory.
But it doesn’t end there…a love triangle would surface between kaname, yuuki and zero…which makes the story more exciting and addictive…
What’s more, a deep secret and twist lies within that will be revealed only before the second season starts [if I’m not mistaken], but is slowly being hinted at during the season one.
I highly recommend this one…I hope a third season starts soon. C”,

the other side of the story
[book] although this book has only been an experiment at first, one of those which I just tried out if it’s a good read or not, especially if its the first time I’ve come across its author… good thing this one proved to be a good find …I’ve read countless books already, with different authors, genres and publication houses :p, but I decided to start featuring this one since it’s the most recent and the one i’m currently hooked into…
The book is titled The Other Side of the Story.
It’s a story about three women with different personalities but would be involved or connected with one another, one way or the other… There is Gemma Hogan who is a successful event planner but her life and career got quite muddled because her senior citizen dad left his mom [to whom he was married for 35 years] for his 30+ y/o secretary whose hair is highlighted [and who is also a single mom to two children]... Then there is Jojo Harveys who is a book agent at Lipman Haigh with successful deals under her name, which makes her hopeful and waiting for an offer of being a partner with or without the help of his lover [a senior partner in the company…uhm, did I mention that he’s already married with children? No? oops, I forgot ;p]…and lastly, Lily Wright, married [to the man who is an ex-boyfriend of gemma whom she can’t quite let go of, feeling quite a scorned woman actually since she considered Lily her bestfriend, uugh!]; a worrier and has trouble writing her second novel after the success of her first one…their lives would be intertwined in this hilarious and captivating novel…a very good read really!
Please check it out…
About the author [as written in the jacket of the book]: Marian Keyes began writing in 1993 and is the author of 6 previous novels, Watermelon, Lucy Sullivan is getting married, Rachel’s Holiday, Last Chance Saloon, Angels, and Sushi for Beginners. She is also the author of a book of non-fiction titled Under the Duvet. She lives in Ireland with her husband and their two imaginary dogs.
…I can say that this is the first time I read a book which it takes me quite a time to finish…before, may it be 300+ or 500+ pages I could read it in one week at the most, no matter how busy I am…but with this one, I still have around ¼ of the 606 pages of the book to read before I could put it back on the shelf…not that it’s not interesting, I wouldn’t bother featuring it if not’s good, but it’s more of really savoring every sentences and paragraphs written because you might miss something out of the lives of the three women and their situations if you just read it just to finish it…

rui's first week in school
[allaboutrui] it was originally my intention to write about rui’s 1st day in school and a day-by-day account thereafter but, hay, no energy left to face the computer to do it [although I stayed home that whole week due to bronchitis] … now I decided I’ll just write about his first week in school as a kindergarten student (",)..
of course, bert and I had already filed our leave for this day since this marks rui’s ‘initiation’ in school and we MUST be there to witness it, divah?..as expected, the problem lies in waking him up early in the morning [hmm, just like me eh, hehe..we are both NOT a morning person], but since we kinda anticipated that already, we woke him up 1-1/2 hours prior his class which starts at 8am. Since it was a rainy & cold morning, we allowed him not to take a bath when he said he didn’t want to, we just resorted to ‘naspu-naspu’ [trans: punas-punas or washing by wet cloth ^-^]…so, with his school uniform & black leather shoes on, wow, we can’t helped but feel proud looking at him & see how big he has grown already just by going to school -_- and since we can’t contain ourselves we took pictures of him, of course! n_n..the photoshoot wrapped up after a few minutes and the 4 of us [i.e. rui, bert, lola chi & me] rode a tricycle & arrived at st. Catherine learning center [the name of rui’s school] around 7:45am.
Several kids with their respective parents were already there and good thing we went with rui that day because an orientation of the kids & their parents was scheduled at 9am. sister letty [the owner & directress] wasn’t able to notify us about it since the schedule wasn’t finalized yet during the time we went there for enrollment. supposedly, an orientation of the teachers was scheduled at 8am but since they were not yet complete, sister letty decided to make our orientation at 8am and the teachers’ at 9am.
She started introducing herself as a former professor in polytechnic university of the phils. (p.u.p.) and the history of st. Catherine learning center which was founded 1997. She added that the school offers low matriculation but quality education [true..before we settled with st. Catherine, we also looked up 2 other schools in our area and the annual amount each school is asking was P24k+!..while here we would need to pay P9k all in..isn’t it great? J aside from the financial advantage, we also received testimonials from neighbors and acquaintances that getting education from st. Catherine is really worthwhile and fun]..
back to the orientation, she talked about some rules of the school like when it’s storm signal no. 1 or even if there was no signal declared but the rain and wind are really strong, there would be no classes already. The orientation was concluded with the election of officers among the parents who will help and support the school’s undertakings. His reminder notebook [notebook # 1] was left in the school, probably for the teacher to write some notices and the like.
While the kids were playing inside the classroom, we were given refreshments and talked with the other parents there. We peeked inside the classroom and saw rui quietly eating his snacks. since sister letty announced that no classes yet that day, Bert asked the teacher if he could take a picture [one of the rules is that parents are not allowed inside the classroom in order to train the students to be independent and not be clingy to their parents]…
After eating, we went to sm Fairview to unwind and buy things from his checklist which he would be bringing to school the next day..oh and a schoolbag too, hehe. After a couple of rides at tom’s world, we headed to national bookstore and looked for a stroller bag big enough for his books and things. Upon seeing the price tags, bert and I both thought ‘if only we bought the one we’ve seen last may’..why?..same kind of stroller bag but last may its half the price! L we decided to look at the department store and to our dismay, same amount so we just settled at a batman stroller bag [rui’s choice :p].
At home, we arrange his things inside the bag and randomly study parts of his books to familiarize him a bit…the first day went well and time to prepare for Tuesday… c:

series: hotaru no hikari
[series] hotaru no hikari
It’s been a while since I had this account but haven’t had the time to do some blogging or updating it…well, now that I’m just at home and kinda tired of resting >_<, might as well do something about it…for starters, I want to put up a corner featuring movies, series, music or books that I’ve come across and for me is highly recommendable and would be rated according to the way I see it and how I feel about it…guess I’ll start with a series which I watched several months ago, a Japanese drama (or jdorama) titled Hotaru no Hikari (with its english title Glow of Fireflies), which stars Ayase Haruka as Amemiya Hotaru and Fujiki Naohito as Takano Seiichi.
The story is about a woman named Amemiya Hotaru who works in a famous design company and can be described as reliable, organized, one who dresses smartly and very efficient in performing her tasks…but when she gets home, it’s as if she walks in another world and transforms into another person! How so? Untidy wouldn’t be enough to describe her house…clothes on the floor, unwashed dishes on the table, trash scattered here and there… and...her outfit inside the house is always jogging pants and t-shirt with her hair ponytailed on top of her head, n_n…but she still looks cute isn’t she, look at her picture n_n…but the story doesn’t end there because it turned out that her house is only leased out and that her landlord is the father of her boss, Takano Seiichi, who is currently homeless after his separation from his wife… now this is where this cute but enchanting story would progress…
Comment: this is the 2nd drama of Ayase Haruka that I’ve watched (the first one was with Kamenashi Kazuya) and I can say that she is really a good actress considering that her roles from the two dramas were so different from each other, so you can really see how effective she was in portraying roles given her…as for Fujiki Naohito…so far I’ve been hooked to jdoramas with young male leads but after watching him in hotaru no hikari, ahh, he’s not only good-looking even at his age but he’s also one good actor. I think he’s the first jap actor of his age whom I admire… so far eh…more to come? He , he…with regards to this drama, oh my, you will definitely enjoy watching this…it’s all about love and life with a lot of funny moments thrown in…it’s the kind of series you’ll watch not only once but again and again…look for a copy now or watch online…happy watching!
